LinuxPR: Artstream delivers Illustration and Page Layout for Linux.

Free Artstream 2.0 licenses for Linux are available to
beta-testers.

“Artstream from Mediascape now runs on the Intel family of
processors and, for the first time, brings professional
illustration and page layout to the Linux environment. Artstream,
working in conjunction with Gimp and Cameleo for Linux, now
provides Linux with the full suite of tools for Graphic Design and
Desktop Publishing. All the functionality provided in Artstream for
Irix is supported, with full featured illustration, including
VectorPaint ShadeGuides and DynaLenses, and other Artstream
innovations, in addition to photo placement, masks, precision
typography, multi-page story flow and more.”

“The initial release is based on RedHat 6.0 or later, and runs
on any Pentium/Celeron with at least a 300Mhz clock. All graphics
cards are supported without acceleration. Substantial acceleration
is provided with available OpenGL acceleration hardware and
drivers.”
