Subject: LPI requests review of Level 2 certification tasks
Members of the Linux community,
While Scott Murray and his team are finishing up validation of
the LPI Level 1 exams, a team of people under Kara Pritchard has
been working to start defining Level 2 of the LPI program. Here is
the first outcome of their labors. Please have a look at these
tasks (or ask your technical people to do so) and determine if
there are any additional tasks that should be included in the
survey. Please see Kara’s note below for more information.
Before looking at the tasks you (or others to whom you pass
this) may want to review the following pages:
http://www.lpi.org/c-process.html
http://www.lpi.org/jobdesc-l2.html
http://www.lpi.org/p-index.html
to understand where Level 2 fits into the LPI program.
This is your opportunity to affect the shape of the Level 2
certification. Please help us make these the best possible
exams.
Please feel free to forward this announcement to other
appropriate mailing lists.
Thank you, Dan

Subject: Level 2 Tasks

To maintain our goals of community participation and development
we have posted our current Level 2 tasks for community and peer
comment, review, and submissions.
At http://www.lpi.org/l2tasks/ you
will find six categories of tasks. These tasks will be turned into
tasks for the Level 2 job analysis. From this analysis we will be
able to determine the objectives for the Level 2 exam.
Do not review for whether or not you believe the current tasks
are relevant to Level 2 at this time. Our Job Analysis survey will
determine that, and likely you will be asked to review them for
such content then.
Review them for technical correctness, and topic completeness.
If there is something you believe that should be included that is
open source, non distribution specific, and not already covered in
level 1 (see http://www.lpi.org/p-index.html
) please submit them.
All comments, questions, and submissions should be directed to
kara@lpi.org. Feel free to use
the lpi-examdev list for discussion.
