osOpinion: Let’s Get More Educated About FreeBSD

Thanks to Kelly

“If you asked me four years ago about FreeBSD, I would have
said, “what is FreeBSD”, and so would have almost everyone. But, as
Linux increases in popularity, so does FreeBSD. Now almost any
“UNIX person” you ask has at the very least, heard of it and if you
ask a Linux user, especially a hardcore Linux user, they have there
own distasteful opinion of it.”

“Linux users complain that FreeBSD doesn’t support as much
hardware as Linux does. This hardware would be unneeded on a
server. As I see it, Linux is for desktop workstations that rely on
sound and video, where FreeBSD is for high volume servers and
desktop workstations in a business environment.”
