“There’s the DOJ VS Microsoft, the Curry affair, the China
espionage scandal, the bizarre “Smart Ship” program, the virus of
the week problem and a lot of others. I was mulling these things
over and, problem solver by nature, I have come up with a way to
solve a lot of problems in one fell swoop.”
“I would like to propose an all in one remedy to all these
problems, from the embarrassment of the government supporting a
monopoly, to some malcontent taking down the government with a
simple mail message. All the solutions I have heard discussed in
the antitrust trial are either hard to implement, could be easily
circumvented, would cost billions or have some other fatal
flaw.
“What I propose is a simple fix that overcomes many of these
objections and possibly steps on the constitution a little less
than most. That proposal is that the US Government simply stop
buying from Microsoft.”
