PC Week: Caldera Unleashes Linux ‘Lizard’

A wizard that makes it easier to install Linux has been put
into the public arena through the Q Public License, an open source
code pact that allows free copying and distribution, by its
developer, Caldera Systems.

“The supplier of OpenLinux, Caldera developed the installation
wizard, dubbed Lizard, to make Linux install more like Windows.
Caldera engineers in Germany developed the wizard with the help of
developers at Troll Tech in Oslo, Norway.”

“Caldera demonstrated the wizard with its version of OpenLinux
2.3, based on the latest version of the Linux kernel, at the second
LinuxWorld conference in San Diego last month. “Lizard will help
Linux move further into the enterprise,” predicted Ransom Love,
chief executive of Caldera.”
