PC Week: HP moves to safeguard online retailers against crashes

“Hewlett Packard Co. on Tuesday here at PC Expo will announce
Linux and Windows NT versions of its WebQoS software.

“WebQoS helps safeguard online retailers against crashes by
prioritizing customer requests into three groups and allocating a
predesignated amount of memory and CPU to each customer, thereby
balancing bandwidth to specific Web servers.”

“WebQoS, already available as a feature of the company’s HP-UX
Unix derivative, will be featured on Red Hat Software Inc.’s Linux
by month’s end…”
