“Linux is still ugly and difficult to install, but, boy, is it
fast. However, I find it difficult to applaud a product for
mimicking the capabilities of its competitors–and a couple of
years later, at that. With the exception of Novell–and we know how
its market share is doing–operating system vendors have been
providing symmetric multiprocessing support for I/O-intensive
applications a while now.”
“The community developing for Linux moves at a snail’s
pace.”
“And with growing support from top-tier vendors, who knows?
Maybe in five years we’ll be saying, ‘No one ever got fired for
buying Linux.'”
