colliding: IT software and news site Andover.net today acquired
Slashdot.org, the prominent open-source advocacy site.”

to servicing the builders of the Internet,” is building a business
of offering IT news, freeware and software tools to users and

providing “News for nerds. Stuff that matters.”

editorials and discussion forums, as well as access to source code
and other open-source materials. Founder Rob Malda (aka “CmdrTaco”)
said he was working 20-hour days and that the staff, many of whom
