Red Hat Software Announces Red Hat Response Link With 24 X 7 Red Hat Linux Support

It’s Alive! Red Hat’s new Response Link , located in the
company’s new Durham, N.C. headquarters, is offering enterprise and
ISPs telephone support packages. Of course, because Linux is so
reliable, the staff is currently pretty bored.

The new support packages include several packages tailored for
specific corporate needs ranging from per-incident packages to
full-blown, 24×7 unlimited support. The packages, available in the
U.S. and Canada, include 800-number call-in and priority response
offerings.

The range of solutions include a 90-day contract for three
incidents, enabling companies and ISPs to leverage Red Hat’s
technical expertise during the initial installation and
configuration of Red Hat servers. It also includes annual
subscriptions and per-incident packages. In coming months, Red Hat
will introduce additional support offerings targeted at small
businesses and end users.

More than 10 million users currently run the Linux operating
system. According to IDC Research, Linux was the fastest-growing
server operating environment in 1998, capturing more than 17
percent of all server operating system shipments.

Pricing for the new support packages range from under $1,000 to
$60,000 for unlimited, priority support.
