“GNU/Linux being commercialized was a punch in the nose for the
community. Mainstream users becoming the majority resulted in a
black eye. But the next one is beneath the belt! Propriety software
enters the field, and actually becomes part of the success story.
Video card drivers from Nvidia aren’t GPL, but contributed to the
availability of GNU/Linux on the private market. Oracle, Lotus
Domino and all the other enterprise applications for Linux are far
from Open Source, but gave warp speed to GNU/Linux muscling into
the enterprise market.

“The community has turned against those commercial players. The
efforts made in the early years to convince others of the benefits
of using GNU/Linux, are now put into convincing others to place an
embargo on products and services from ‘The Evil Ones’. As much as
every new user was welcomed for a few years, nowadays new users are
bullied away from the sacred grounds…”
