Technocrat.net: VA Linux – Corporation with a Human Face

“A coworker of mine and I were installing several machines
(including three VA Linux 501 servers — really nice machines) into
rack at Frontier-GlobalCenter’s colo space in Sunnyvale. We noticed
that we were missing a set of 8 screws for rack-mounting one of the
three 501’s. So, without thinking too much (or perhaps we knew what
was to come), we decided to drive 10 blocks to VA Linux HQ to see
what they could do for us.”

“We wait a few minutes. And then Rick Moen, of BALUG (Bay Area
Linux Users Group) fame, pops his head out and we tell him we need
screws. 8 screws.”

“… a few minutes later, back he comes with a baggy of
screws *exactly* like the one we were missing.”

“… thank you VA Linux for being a small-town neighborhood
service-oriented company with a stock price above $300 per share. I
wish their were more like you!”
