The Business Journal (Raleigh/Durham): Ad agency doffs Red Hat

“Red Hat Software’s advertising agency dropped the account only
six months after winning the business, complaining that the Linux
distributor doesn’t have its marketing act together.”

“Atlanta-based BaylessCronin had expected to help design a $20
million account for Red Hat, the Durham-based firm that went public
last August. But a lack of movement by Red Hat, coupled with the
departure of Red Hat’s top marketing exec in March, prompted the
agency to pull out on April 6.”

We resigned the business because we didn’t feel there was a
commitment to brand building and marketing
,” says chief
executive officer Tim Bayless.”
