“‘Getting started with Yellow Dog Linux’ is excellent
in what it explains. However, the manual is quite as bad in what it
does not explain. Indeed, it is very incomplete and I’d say even
unappropriate to new Linux users. The topics they chose to explain
are often “nice” but miss the essential things. The concept of the manual is brilliant, using simple and
comprehensive language to get to the point, however the realization
of that concept has been a mere catastrophy.Everything goes well till the end of the Installation Guide.
After that, the authors have lost their own tracks. Indeed, in my
opinion they did not cover the basic stuff users will want to do
once they are in Linux.”
