“Last month, I took a detailed look at the first of two
exams required for LPI’s Level II certification. This month, I will
give the same treatment to the second required exam – 202:
Linux Networking Administration. To become Level II certified, you
must pass this exam as well as exam 201: Advanced Linux, and must
have already achieved Level I certification.NOTE: In early February, LPI announced that effective
immediately and continuing until December 31, 2002, Sair LCA
certification can be used in place of LPI’s Level I certification
as the prerequisite requirement for Level II. To do so, however,
you must mail a copy of your Sair certificate to LPI for
authentication. More information is available at
http://news.lpi.org/stories.php?story=02/02/03/0760801.Like the 201 exam, the 202 is a very difficult test. There are
60 questions to be answered in 90 minutes. The questions include
fill-in-the-blank and multiple-choice types, with many of the
multiple-choice questions consisting of four (A-D) or five (A-E)
choices. The exam costs $100, and the VUE testing center
(www.vue.com) order number is 117-202. The passing score is 530;
roughly translated, that means you must answer 32 questions
correctly.”
