Wired: IBM School Ties Linux With Sash

“What’s the ideal summer vacation for a student programmer? The
hands-down — and hands-on — answer has to be IBM’s Extreme Blue
program.”

Extreme Blue is a summer internship program on both coasts
that provides computer science students with the chance to create
and build new software for emerging technologies like
Linux.

“It also allows IBM access to talented people who might not
normally have thought of Big Blue as their employer of choice. IBM
refers to the program as an “academic incubator.”

“This year’s standout student project in the Boston area was
“Sash For Linux.” an application based on IBM’s Sash
technology.”
