increasing awareness that post-45 year old workers represent a
skill resource and knowledge that we cannot afford to waste,” said
ACS chairman Kumar Parakala. “”Older workers bring a greater depth
of experience and pragmatism to projects since they have learned
over time what does and doesn’t work. They often have tactics
and skills that can ensure the success of a project, and the
application of that experience results in a higher degree of
professionalism. This is something that Australia has to deal with,
if we are going to compete internationally, as we have to make the
best use of all of our skilled workers, especially with an ageing
workforce,” added Parakala.”
