AP/Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Sun Shares Rise on Fourth-Quarter Profit

“Sun Microsystems Inc. shares rose more than 3 percent Wednesday
after the server and software maker reported a profit for its
fiscal fourth quarter and proclaimed demand has stabilized after a
decline that started with the dot-com bust of 2000.

“Though computer systems revenue fell about 4 percent in the
fourth quarter, Sun said in an after-hours earnings report Tuesday
that total server shipments grew by 7 percent, led by a 118 percent
jump in the number of servers running Opteron chips supplied by
Advanced Micro Devices Inc…”
