“While Dell has been signally successful in the low- and
mid-range enterprise market, it plays second fiddle to archrivals
HP and IBM at the rarefied end of the enterprise computing
realm.

“But this could well change with the direct vendor’s decision to
incorporate Red Hat’s new Enterprise Linux 3, released late last
month, into its products.

“Dell will now offer the OS, which supports a much wider range
of IT deployments and spans seven hardware architectures, on its
Precision workstation family and its PowerEdge server line…”
