in the PC server operating system arena within fiscal
2000.“

Oracle Corp. Japan announced Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release
8.1.6 for Linux, an enterprise database management system running
on the Linux platform.”
“Compaq Computer KK said Linux-bundled PC servers account for 10
percent among all PC servers shipped in Japan. The company expects
this rate to grow to 15 percent within fiscal 2000.”
