“A Novell Inc. layoff will affect 600 employees this winter, or
10 percent of the software company’s workforce, in a bid to focus
on its Linux operating system and identity security businesses.

“Novell did not specify which locations will be affected. The
company has its headquarters in Waltham, Mass., and major
facilities in Provo, Utah, where it was founded, and Nuremberg,
Germany, where its SuSE Linux division is based…”
