BW: Veterans Benefits Administration Awards PEC Solutions Information Technology Task Order

“The Department of Veterans Affairs, Acquisition Operations and
Analysis Service, announced on April 4, 2000 that it had awarded
PEC Solutions (NASDAQ:PECS) a task order to help manage the
transition to a state-of-the-art information system to enhance
communications and information sharing among the Veterans Benefits
Administration’s (VBA) numerous regional offices.”

“PEC Solutions will help acquire the necessary components
for constructing and deploying the enhanced information gateways,
which provide communication between VBA workstations and the
Benefits Delivery Network (BDN).
The BDN hosts a number of
benefits critical to Veterans, including compensation and pension,
education, and others.”

“The communications gateway is based on the Red Hat Linux
platform, and also allows for value-added Internet/Intranet
services.
The task order is valued at approximately $765,000.
