When the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) was
established in 1983, little did the university expect its student
registration system to run out of steam 10 years later. While it
was a good problem to have — it meant the university was
increasing its student population — the higher number of
users was taking its toll on IIUM’s student registration system and
operating platform.

“Among the major issues were slow processing speed and frequent
system crashes. Something had to be done to resolve those problems
and IIUM did just that about two years ago when the university’s IT
division director, Dr Mohamad Fauzan Hj Noordin, and his team went
on a fact-finding mission to determine which operating platform
would be the most suitable to switch to…”
