Eric S. Raymond on Keeping the Bazaar Secure and Functional

Raymond is somewhat famous in open source circles. With Bruce Perens, he’s a co-founder of the Open Source Initiative, and served as the organization’s president from its founding in 1998 until 2005. He’s also the author of 1999’s “The Cathedral and the Bazaar,” which is still considered a must read for anyone interested in the open source development model. He’s also no stranger to controversy, and has been criticized (and applauded — pick your side) for his opinions on everything from the motives of women-in-tech organizations to the rhetoric of “free software” advocate Richard Stallman.
