Dear Editor,
The European Commission has shown a great interest in Open
source and free software, often referred in Europe as “Libre
software”.
Under the IDA program (IDA stands for Interchange of Data
between Administration), the European Commission has ordered a
study about the use of open source software (Linux, etc.) in the
European public sector.
This study is now available on the European Commission IDA site:
http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/ida/ (the link is in the “Highlights”
left column).
