iOS gets more ported apps as Android dominance grows

It wasn’t all that long ago that the stable platform offered by iOS was the most logical starting position for developers, making the move to Android something that happened if there were time and resources available. In many cases, the early Android ports of popular iOS apps were clumsy, ignoring the user interface differences between the two platforms and creating a poor experience overall. Turntable.FM, Instagram, and many others found themselves receiving reviews from some truly unhappy Android users when their apps did finally arrive in the Google Play Store. In time, most of these apps would adjust their design to support Android, and were often rewarded with explosive growth and user adoption.
