“Sun Microsystems reported earnings after the bell on Tuesday,
July 20. But overall, I’m not positive about an investment in SUNW
at this time.

“Sun posted revenues of $3.1 billion (a modest 4.3 percent
sequential revenue gain and the first revenue increase in over
three years) and which was helped by price discounting. Positive
rhetoric focused on Sun’s installed base, which has started
upgrading, and important vertical customer markets, which we were
told had improved. Management also said revenue growth was fueled
by demand for its computing products and services, more so in the
U.S. and Europe than Asia…”
