The debate over how Linux measures up in business has raised
many issues — and tempers — in recent weeks. IT Week’s Lem
Bingley polls a few Linux users for their views on the open source
operating system.

“The hard-ware specification was low enough that we could use a
PC that we could not use for anything else, [whereas] NT and
Solaris force you to buy into a level of hardware, that is
sometimes unacceptable.”

“It seems certain that Linux is currently the most robust
operating system on Intel hardware.”
