“The Greater London Authority is considering the use of open
source software, a London wide e-services system and closer work
with the private sector as it moves on with its e-government
programme.

“The authority’s e-government agency, known as London Connects,
has commissioned industry group Open Forum Europe to produce a
study on the use of open source software by public sector
organisations in the capital. The move follows support from
Whitehall for open source software and is in line with EU attempts
to promote the technology among European member states…”
