“Open source application servers need management capabilities to
address issues of availability and performance just as packaged
servers do, but products for these capabilities are only just
coming to market.

“Today Covalent released Application Manager (CAM), which also
delivers troubleshooting for all major open source Web application
resources, including Tomcat, Jboss, Linux, Apache and MySQL. A pair
of customers, hotel chain La Quinta, and analog technology provider
National Semiconductor have announced they will adopt the
solution.

“‘We had to look in the commercial space and Covalent had a
compelling offering that supports Jboss, Tomcat and Apache, not a
lot of other companies are there with support yet,’ says Raven
Zachary, director of Internet technology at La Quinta…”
