high-tech giant Oracle has been providing free support for the
open-source operating system that runs its e-business software. And
recently, North Rhine-Westphalia Police Force, ViewSonic and Yahoo
took Oracle up on its offer.“So far, at least one industry watcher is singing Oracle’s
praises. ‘The bottom line is that Oracle is trying to establish
itself as the Linux king,’ says Mike Schiff, vice president of data
