Linux DevCenter: Windows Steals Top Server OS Spot From Unix : But Hold Up…

“Microsoft’s Windows edged out Unix in 2005 as the best-selling
server operating system, research firm IDC said Wednesday, marking
the first time Unix hasn’t held the top spot in more than a
decade.

“Windows servers accounted for $17.7 billion in revenues last
year, the Framingham, Mass.-based research company said, while
Unix-powered servers took in $17.5 billion.
