“The Linux Foundation published new stats last week about Linux
adoption trends and future outlook. It’s a future that sure looks
rosy from their vantage point, with 80 percent of respondents
indicating they have added Linux servers in the past year and plan
to add even more in the coming year.

A key area of potential growth for Linux adoption is in the Big
Data space. According to the Linux Foundation survey, 72 percent of
survey respondents plan on using Linux to support Big Data
efforts
