“MSC.Software, a provider of modeling and simulation
analysis software to the engineering community, announced its
decision to use Elfstone Software’s Run Time X Press (RTX) product
in its transition to the Linux platform. This announcement
came nearly three weeks after the company unveiled its new
MSC.Linux department, a division focused on the creation and
support of Linux-based applications.”
“RTX, Elfstone’s run-time kit for Motif applications, is
compatible with all major Linux distributions and is intended to
provide core graphical interface technology to MSC.Software’s
project MSC.Patran.”
“MSC.Patran is a software application that uses computer-aided
design (CAD) to allow conceptualization, development and testing of
a product using computer-based simulation instead of prototypical
models. These simulations have enabled designers to build
technologically sophisticated items such as automobiles, electronic
products, and high-performance aircraft.”
