“Bynari Inc. announced today the availability of
version 2.1 of Insight, an Outlook compatible groupware client for
Linux. Insight allows Linux and UNIX workstations to operate in
Microsoft exchange enterprises. Insight provides similar features
to Outlook while remaining RFC compliant.

Bynari has made numerous enhancements to its Insight messaging
and collaboration product. The new Insight client interoperates
directly with Outlook without requiring a proxy. This capability,
provides users with the ability to send and receive meeting
invitations, share tasks, utilize the global address book, accept
and decline invitations and populate their calendars from Outlook
requests and vice versa.

“We can now take advantage of Outlook interoperability without
using Exchange,” says Tom Adelstein, Vice President of Technology.
” Additionally, we can parse Outlook encrypted messages and
retrieve attachments, formats, Exchange components, and calendaring
events from generic MTAs such as sendmail, exim, qmail and so
on.”
