“* 71 per cent of viewers say Linux operating system is ready
for corporate use but lacks desktop applications”

“Silicon.com, the online TV news and recruitment service for IT
professionals, reveals startling results of a recent user poll into
the open source operating system, Linux. Its survey highlighted
that 71 per cent of Silicon.com viewers believe Linux is ready for
business, while only 25 per cent disagreed.”

“Interestingly, survey respondents made a clear distinction
between server and client-side Linux. More than half of those who
had backed Linux said that due to the lack of support and
applications, they were not confident that the open-source
operating system was ready for the desktop.”
