Manilla Bulletin: Interest on Red Hat Linux Seen Growing Among Local Companies

“Red Hat Linux, an open source operating system has the
potential in the local market particularly among large
enterprises.

“During a forum on open source computing organized by MosCom, a
lot of the local big companies had expressed interest in deploying
Red Hat Linux for their servers and workstations, said Anson Uy,
president of Touch Solutions.

“As an exclusive distributor of Red Hat Linux in the
Philippines, Touch Solutions is targeting the top 7,000
corporations in the country.

“Uy said that he had received a lot of inquiries from
multinational companies, conglomerates and large enterprises on Red
Hat Linux. ‘And many of the MNCs and big companies are allocating a
budget for Linux next year…'”
