Microsoft Steps Up Its Windows Game Against Linux

“Microsoft has made its next comprehensive move against Linux.
At this point in time, it seems that the Redmond company is lining
up every last of its peons, building a consistent offensive that
will accompany the official launch of Windows Server 2008.
Microsoft’s last 32-bit server operating system is currently
scheduled to be made available at the end of February 2008, with
Windows Vista Service pack 1 to follow it to the market. Despite
repeated assurances from the company that the server operating
system will be released to manufacturing by the end of 2007, the
RTM date was postponed to early 2008, due to quality problems.
