“IT is vital to the functioning of modern companies and critical
to the modern economy. ‘However, the current software technologies
supplied to Fortune 500 companies are causing them to forfeit 10%
of their profits, this figure does go up to 15% for public sector
IT companies. So the choice is clear, we need to stop delivering
terrible software,’ President (Open Source Initiative) and Vice
President (Open Source Affairs), Red Hat Inc., Michael Tiemann told
moneycontrol.

“Industry statistics (CIO Insight survey) show that basic
software quality is declining as costs rise suggesting that the
more companies spend on IT, the less valuable it gets…”
