“UnitedLinux, formed with high hopes and a spirit of
cooperation, now appears to be anything but united. The umbrella
group of four Linux vendors is a house divided, an organization
whose members seem to be at cross purposes with each other.

“The questions rising from the turmoil within UnitedLinux are
resonating throughout the open-source industry. In short, can an
organization that promotes Linux be relevant when one of its
members has instigated a legal battle that could hinder Linux
adoption?

“And, if not, should that organization seek to remove the
dissenting member…?”
