source within the company questioned the validity of the story,
noting that it was not only inaccurate with regard to basic
details, but possibly premature. This story, while it doesn’t paint
a pretty picture, is said by our source to be a more accurate
representation of the situation at the company. -mph ]
“After growing rapidly as a provider of Linux training and
services, year-old Linuxgruven.com of Clayton has tumbled into
disarray even more quickly.”
“The company’s chief executive and chief technology officer
have abruptly resigned. Payroll checks have bounced. And the
company’s chairman, James Hibbits, has told most of Linuxgruven’s
estimated 150 employees not to return to work until further
notice.“
“The company’s troubles caused a spate of calls Monday to the
Better Business Bureau, which already had tangled with Linuxgruven
over ads the bureau has said were misleading. The ads promised jobs
paying $45,000 a year, but didn’t mention that to get the job one
must be certified in Linux system administration, a course the
company provides to job candidates for about $3,150 a year.”
