SD Times: Open-Source Ingres Beginning to Pay Dividends

“Computer Associates International Inc. claims that new
clustering and scalability features built into the Nov. 1 release
of Ingres 3 put its enterprise database for Linux and Windows on a
par with Oracle 9i and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

“Perhaps more interesting is the opening of Ingres source code,
a move the company says is already starting to bring unexpected
results from the developer community…”
