“Speaking of Sun, anyone who’s been watching the growing
interest of world governments in Linux adoption might be surprised
to note that Sun is knocking on a lot of official doors trying to
sell OpenSolaris and Java as a viable open-source solution over the
penguin.

“One such country is the South American nation of Venezuela,
which has openly declared its intent to shift all government
software to free and open source. If no free or open solution can
