cutting edge of computing technology. According to The Princeton
Review’s list of ‘America’s Most Connected Campuses’ the school is
now the second most connected university in the United States, up
from No. 6 on its previous list.

“To reinforce its position, the institution is moving from
proprietary software to an open source platform based on Red Hat
Enterprise Linux running on IBM eServer hardware. A variety of
factors are driving the transition, including economics and the
desire to streamline the number of supported technologies. The IT
staff also sees the move to open source as an enabler of a broader
technology education that will ultimately lead to greater job
prospects in the future…”
