An enterprising reporter tracks down James Hibbits, co-founder
of LinuxGruven.com, just before his arrest on unrelated fraud
charges. As you might expect, he denies that any wrongdoing went on
at LinuxGruven.com:

“Wearing shorts and a T-shirt bearing the logo of slashdot.com,
a computer news Web site that has carried sometimes harsh accounts
of his company’s demise, Hibbits denied wrongdoing at Linuxgruven.
The company has faced accusations from the Better Business Bureau
and others that it lured students through misleading ads promising
$45,000-a-year jobs….”

“‘Obviously, we expanded a little too fast, and just like every
other tech company out there, we were working toward getting a
round of financing,’ Hibbits said….”

“Hibbits declined to comment specifically on the cases over
bounced checks [at LinuxGruven] and the students seeking refunds,
though he did say, ‘I think all the obligations that are
outstanding are going to be met and the company is going to go
forward.'”
