“Irving Wladawsky-Berger, vice president of technology for IBM’s
Server Group, told reporters and analysts during a news conference
at IBM’s Linux/e-Business event in New York, that the company sees
an “enormous opportunity” in Linux.”
“We really see this as a multi-billion-dollar opportunity
for IBM,” Wladawsky-Berger said.“
“Though enthusiasts see the upstart Linux as an alternative to
Microsoft’s (stock: MSFT) Windows, IBM executives made it clear
that the company was not moving away from Windows.”
