“IBM Corp. plans to start shipping a bundle of small-business
software for Linux next week that can run on the company’s recently
announced sub-$1,000 servers.”

“The IBM Small Business Suite for Linux includes the standard
edition of the WebSphere application server, the workgroup edition
of the DB2 Universal Database, and the Lotus Domino R5 groupware
server.”

“The bundle costs $499, plus $90 per user.”

“Industry analyst Stacey Quandt of Giga Information Group,
Cambridge, Mass., said IBM is using the new bundle to seed the
market.”

IBM is creating this bundle in order to facilitate the
adoption of enterprise-class applications by small businesses on
Linux
