“Andover.net, the company behind leading Linux news Web sites
Slashdot.org and Freshmeat.net, is to branch out from online
publishing and produce a monthly magazine.”

“The mag, called Open, is to debut in August and will
be free to what Andover describes as “qualified IT professionals”
and anyone wanting to register for their free copy will need to
complete a questionnaire at www.openmagazine.net.”

“Open plans to bring its readers a mix of case studies,
product reviews and technology reports.
The mag’s editorial
director Dr Jack Fegreus, said: “The magazine’s mission is to
bridge technology and business issues for technologists building IT
strategies upon open source products.”
