Times of India: IBM to invest $200 million for Linux in Asia Pacific

“Global IT major IBM on Monday said it would invest $200 mn (Rs
920 crore) in Asia Pacific region, including India, for making open
standard Linux a key part of its e-business infrastructure
strategy.”

“The investment would be part of IBM’s global commitment of $1
billion for making all its products Linux ready and developing
skills to implement Linux solutions.”

“‘IBM has reaffirmed its commitment to make Linux a key part of
their e-business infrastructure strategy. We would invest
significantly in Linux. In Asia Pacific the investment would be to
the tune of $200 million,’ a company spokesperson said here.”
