Cruz Operation Inc. ‘A few years ago, everyone said it was going to
be a Windows-everywhere world, but now they are waking up and
saying Windows just isn’t appropriate everywhere.'”

“According to San Jose-based market research firm Dataquest
Inc., 1998 worldwide workstation OS shipments nearly doubled during
the year before, reaching 750,972 units compared with 386,213 for
1997. Unix shipments, however, were almost flat, dropping from
623,067 in 1997 to 620,353 in 1998. A small percentage of sales
went to other OSs, such as Linux.”
