“Wichita-based Stratitec Inc. has designed a Linux-based
computer system that is now being offered exclusively to members of
Sam’s Club via the Sam’s Club Web site.

“Stratitec officials say the new system, priced at less than
$300, offers individuals and businesses an inexpensive yet powerful
alternative to Windows and Macintosh systems.

“‘For $300 you can get a computer that offers good flexibility,
e-mail, an Internet browser and a system that interacts with
Windows networks so you can share printers and files,’ says
